Sloped and split-level gardens are common across the West Midlands, and a lot of the work we do never makes it into a photo: retaining walls, proper footings, and levelling a site before the visible part of the job can start. We build sleeper retaining walls with correct drainage behind them, so the wall isn’t fighting waterlogged ground within a year, and pour footings to the depth an architect or building control would expect, not a shortcut version.
Because we run our own digger, dumper and roller rather than hiring plant by the day, groundwork on bigger jobs isn’t rushed to keep to a hire company’s schedule.
Priced per job after a site visit, since ground conditions, slope and access vary too much for a fixed rate. As a guide, a single retaining sleeper wall around 8 to 10 metres typically starts from £2,200.
