Our Story
I started SJS Landscaping ten years ago after a spell working on bigger commercial and civils sites, where I picked up my SSSTS supervisor ticket along with tickets for digger, dumper and roller work. I saw a lot of jobs get rushed through without anyone properly overseeing them, and I wanted to run things differently: turn up when I say I will, quote a fair price and stick to it, and finish a job to a standard I'd be happy with in my own garden.
These days it's still a small, hands-on team, usually me and one or two of the lads on site, so you're dealing with the same people from the first visit to the last day of the job. We cover hard landscaping across Walsall, Cannock and the wider West Midlands: patios, driveways, block paving, porcelain and Indian sandstone, fencing, and security posts.
Ten years in, most of our work now comes from repeat customers and referrals rather than adverts, which tells me the approach is working.
Our Journey
- 2016
SJS Landscaping founded
Started taking on residential landscaping jobs across Walsall and Cannock after several years on commercial groundworks sites.
- 2020
Plant capability added
Brought digger, dumper and roller work in-house, taking on bigger driveway and groundwork jobs without subcontracting the groundwork out.
- 2026
Present day
Ten years in, covering Walsall, Cannock and the wider West Midlands, with most new work coming from repeat customers and referrals.
Accreditations
SSSTS Certified Supervisor
Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme certified. Every job is run to a proper site-safety standard, not residential guesswork.
CPCS Plant Tickets
Certified to operate digger, dumper and roller plant, so groundwork and levelling is done by a ticketed operator, not subcontracted out.
