Landscaper in Cannock

We're based in Great Wyrley, four miles south of Cannock, which puts us close enough to get out early and leave time for a proper site visit before moving to the next job. Most of our Cannock work is driveways and block paving, usually for the semis and new-builds on the expanding edges of town towards Cannock Chase. The ground out here drains better than the clay-heavy Black Country further down, which changes how we plan a patio or driveway, especially if standing water has been a problem before.

Why choose us in Cannock

We’re only four miles away, so bringing a digger and dumper on site for a driveway job is a straightforward run from Great Wyrley, without the extra cost that travel time adds for firms based further away.

  • SSSTS certified supervision on every job, plus CPCS tickets for digger, dumper and roller work
  • Fixed price agreed before we start, based on a proper site visit, not a telephone estimate
  • Concrete-set fence posts and correct sub-base depth as standard, not a shortcut to hit a lower price
  • Free, no-obligation quotes, with a realistic start date given at the same time

If you’re building a new driveway on ground you’re not sure about, we can help. Several of our Cannock jobs started as a survey to check whether the sub-base needed deeper preparation or whether the sandier ground could take a standard installation as-is. Get it wrong and you’ll be digging up a failed driveway in five years, so it’s worth getting the groundwork right first time.

We carry spare materials for common repair jobs too, a sunken corner of block paving, a cracked slab, a blown panel, so a smaller fix doesn’t have to wait months to slot into a full installation schedule. That applies to fencing and any other garden work that needs patching.

Services available in Cannock

Driveways and block paving are the main call in Cannock, especially for the semi-detached properties where a full front paving job makes sense. We also do a fair amount of patio work on the back gardens where the sandier ground and larger plots suit a bigger installation.

  • Patio Installation

Porcelain and Indian sandstone patios, laid on a proper sub-base with correct falls for drainage. Fixed price agreed before we dig.

  • Driveways & Block Paving

Block paved driveways built on a proper dug-out and compacted sub-base, with plant on site for larger jobs rather than hand-dug corners.

  • Fencing

Fence panel and post replacement, including storm damage repairs. Concrete posts as standard so the next storm doesn't take it down again.

  • Security Posts & Bollards

Fixed and telescopic security posts for driveways, set in proper concrete foundations to actually stop unauthorised access, not just deter it.

  • Sleeper Walls & Groundwork

Retaining sleeper walls, footings and site levelling using our own digger and dumper, for sloped gardens and split-level projects.

Complete garden transformations, from a neglected plot ripped out and started from scratch to a full patio, planting and boundary rebuild.

Driveways & Block Paving in Cannock

Local to Cannock

The closer you get to the old pit areas near the centre of town, the more interwar and postwar stock you see, solid semis with reasonable-sized front gardens where a full driveway project is straightforward. Head out towards Cannock Chase itself and the ground opens up, both literally and geologically. The sandier, better-draining soil near the Chase means patios and driveways don't sit in water the way they do on pure clay, so the job is simpler and the finished result lasts longer. However, some of the former mining ground can be more variable than it first appears, and we always do a proper site inspection before quoting, not just a quick walk around. The newer estates on the edge of town often have larger rear gardens than the older streets, which is where we see more ambitious projects: full garden makeovers, large patio extensions, substantial driveway work. Access to these properties is usually good, so the digger and dumper can get on site without the hand-digging that slows down tighter urban work.

Common landscaper problems in Cannock

The main issue we avoid through proper surveying is over-estimating how good the drainage is, even on better ground. Some of the old mining-affected areas have surprises underneath, so we always confirm the sub-base depth and drainage plan in person, not over the phone. Newer estates rarely have these problems, but access can sometimes be a puzzle if the developer finished the front gardens with tight boundary fencing before the driveways were in.
